Lowri-Ann Richards

Biography

Lowri-Ann trained for 3 years at The Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art and has been a professional actress and performer for over 40 years. Her tv work in both English and Welsh (she is a fluent native Welsh speaker) is long and extensive and includes playing regular Josie in POBOL Y CWM, Trish in ROWND A ROWND and she has starred in her own tv show PYRFFORMIAD on S4C. Her most recent film credit was playing ’Tiny Woman’ alongside Kevin Bacon in Blumhouse’s YOU SHOULD HAVE LEFT.

She has just completed a National Welsh tour as part of the all female cast of the musical TIC TOC for Valmai Jones, has been a regular on the BRITISH MUSIC HALL circuit for over 25 years as well as having worked for Peter Gill at The Royal National Theatre and John Alderton for The Theatre of Comedy. She co-wrote and performed her solo 5* Edinburgh reviewed show ‘Whatever Happened to LaLa Shockette?’ for which she was nominated for a London Cabaret Award in 2015. As a recording artist (known as LA RICHARDS) she was a founder member of the 80’s band TIGHT FIT as well as being a member of indie bands SHOCK and PLEASURE AND THE BEAST.

Radio work includes dubbing the TELETUBBIES part of ‘Po’ into Welsh and playing the leading role in LEDI BELINDA for 4 series for BBC Radio Cymru. Lowri-Ann is a drama coach having gained a Masters Degree in Actor Training and Coaching from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in 2012. Her hobbies include all year round wild water swimming and game shooting. 

She is the same age as Madonna (but without the fillers or botox) and can still do the splits with ease.
