Onkar Singh
Onkar burst onto our screens in 2018 with the smash hit “The Wedding Guru.” The show provided a behind-the-scenes look at him and his father’s catering and event business, and aired on BBC One Wales and BBC Two National. His no-nonsense but funny and warm style captured audiences’ attention, and the show was renewed for a second series in 2020.
During this time, Onkar also appeared in numerous VT segments for “The Great Outdoors” on BBC One Wales with Carole Vorderman and Scott Quinnell.
In 2021, Onkar fronted the three-part BBC One Wales documentary “The Asian Welsh,” which explored how Asian immigration has affected Wales.
Onkar’s love of Wales and his growing popularity led him to appear on the popular show “Weatherman Walking” on BBC One Wales alongside Derek Brockway. Together, they explored the beauty of Wales.
In May 2022, Onkar co-presented “Summer Saturdays” on BBC Radio Wales alongside Hayley Pearce every Saturday afternoon throughout the summer.
Onkar reappeared again for another series of “Weatherman Walking” in 2022.
Onkar also appeared several times on the late show on BBC Radio Wales, covering for Eleri Sion.
During the day, he filmed VTs for a new series called “Food Fest Wales,” which aired in February 2023. Onkar interviewed food producers all over Wales, and the show is hosted by Sean Fletcher.”Food Fest Wales” will also reappear in a new format called “Coast to Coast,” currently airing on BBC Two nationally.And Onkar will again appear in Spring 2023 for “Weatherman Walking” for the third time.
