Gwern Phillips

Biography
Gwern is a farmer’s son, and an alumnus of the MA Acting course at The Arts Educational Schools, London where he gained intense training in acting, movement, voice coaching and television.

 

Originally from Cardigan, a rural town in West Wales, Gwern is fluent in both Welsh and English.

 

During his early years he gained a vast amount of experience on various stages with his highlights revolving around theatre.During his MA course he futher gained vast experience on stage and screen whilst playing the part of Claudio in Measure for Measure, Fred in Sticks and Stones and Jamie in the final year production, Days of Significance.

 

Gwern has been fortunate to have toured and be part of the cast in numerous productions over recent years with Theatr Arad Goch. These have involved two tours of the production ‘Ble Mae’r Dail yn Hedfan/Where the leaves blow’ playing the character Deri, then a summer tour of the production ‘Jemeima’, a School tour of the new Arad Goch production ‘Cymrix’ where he played the role of Aden and the role of Dewin Dwl in the summer tour of ‘Cerdyn Post o Wlad y Rwla’. He was also lucky enough to travel to Pakistan with Theatr Arad Goch to perform ‘Where the leaves blow’ as part of the MASS Theatre Festival in May 2024.

 

His television credits include being an on-screen feature on the S4C programme Stwnsh Sadwrn an on-screen feature in the S4C production, Merched Parchus. He also played the role of Owen in the production ‘ Maes B’ in 2022. He was also lucky enough to play the main part in the new short music video for the Welsh band, Gwilym –  ‘Ti ar dy ora’ pan ti’n canu’.

 

Gwern is an avid rugby and football supporter and player. His other interest include singing, music and travelling.
