Andria Doherty

Biography

Andria is a versatile performer, has worked professionally since a child. She has a sensory impairment and is an ambulatory wheelchair user and identifies as Disabled and Partially Deaf. A fluent Welsh Speaker and has experience in working in both English and Welsh.

Andria can currently be seen in Hugh Grant’s new drama ‘Why Didn’t They Ask Evans’ on Britbox , in the role of Rose Pratt.

Recently Andria was on our screens in the multi award winning, Russell T Davies’ drama IT’S A SIN for Channel 4 in the role of the ‘Colin’s Mam ‘- (Eileen Morris-Jones), for which she was nominated for a Best Actress Award at the BAFTA Cymru Awards in 2021.

Andria was also very recently seen on screen in BBC DOCTORS in the role of Elsie Lynn.

She has also recently finished filming the new drama ‘Y GOLAU’/’THE LIGHT IN THE HALL’ which will be broadcast later this year on S4C and Channel 4.

Other TV credits include POBOL Y CWM , GWAITH CARTREF, DOCTORS as well as local adverts.

Andria is also an experienced Voice Over Artist and has credits for BBC, S4C, ITV , Capital Radio and The Wave.

Other work includes Presenting for S4C Promo and Hospital Radio and Hospital TV.

She also worked as a Registered Nurse and Midwife for many years and has used her medical experience to offer expert advice to TV programmes.

Being a Disabled Actor, Andria has worked extensively with Disability Arts Cymru , is a member of their Unusual Stage School and has performed at various venues including Wales Millennium Centre and Sherman Theatre, Cardiff. Also a successful tour of Ireland.
