Bafta award winning actor Richard Elfyn, has credits ranging from movies like ‘The Killer Elite‘ with Robert DeNiro, ‘The Dark’, ‘The History of Mr Polly’, ‘Gwen’, ‘Apostle’ and the lead role in the Gari Tryfan feature length dramas for S4C, recent films include ‘School’s Out Forever’, ‘Six Minutes to Midnight’ and ‘Swn’ for S4C
On television Richard has starred in ‘The Crown’ as the Foreign Secretary Selwyn Lloyd, ‘Keeping Faith’, ‘Emmerdale’, ‘Pobol y Cwm’, ‘Hinterland’ and ‘Stella’ with Ruth Jones, ‘The Pact’ and ‘The Trick’ for the BBC. This year Richard has starred in ‘U Boat Wargamers’ as Admiral Sir Max Horton for Skytv, and ‘Steeltown Murders’ and ‘Wolf’ for the BBC.
Richard’s theatre credits include acclaimed performances in ‘Spring and Port Wine’, ‘The Rivals’ and the ‘Admirable Crichton’ for the New Vic rep season. He is an associate member of Theatr Clwyd appearing in ‘Of Mice and Men’, ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’, ‘A Small Family Business’, ‘Under Milk Wood’, ‘Macbeth’ and ‘Hamlet’ to name but a few. He also sang a duet with Anthony Newley each night for seven months around the UK touring ‘Scrooge the Musical’.
He works extensively for BBC Radio Drama and for animation vocals and is the voice of Fireman Sam in Welsh (Sam Tân) for Welsh television S4C. He has also voiced robots and varying monsters for ‘Dr Who’.
He has performed his one man show ‘The Wizard, The Goat and the Man Who Won the War’, about the life of David Lloyd George, around the world from Paris to Singapore and Boston in the US, and will be performing the show in London next year. He trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
Richard also sings in the 2nd tenor section of the World famous ‘Treorchy Male Choir’, and in 2024 will be touring with them to Monaco and Florida.
