Nicola Blackman

Born in Battersea London, Nicola’s mother was Northern Irish, her father was a cricketer from Barbados. Originally she was going to be a barrister, but got side-tracked and ended up in the ensemble of the West End musical SHOWBOAT. Since drama school (Guildhall) and a very short time at university, she has worked consistently in the industry for over thirty years from classics at the National Theatre, through West End musicals to regional and new work.

Some favourite work: DESTRY RIDES AGAIN (Donmar Warehouse – Olivier nomination, Best Supporting Actress) THE LION KING (Lyceum Theatre), LOVE ON THE PLASTIC (Half Moon Theatre – Time Out nomination, Best Actress) and in New York where Nicola has lived and worked, MEDEA (Company Collisions), MAMMA MIA (Nickolas Grace Productions) and TV Pilot MADAM MANHATTAN.
