Neil Bebber

After his first play won “Script Slam” at the Sherman Theatre 10 years ago, Neil went on to receive Guardian reviews for his plays CUL DE SAC (Exeter Bikeshed) and STRAIGHT (Tactile Bosch, Cardiff).

Heʼs since written for NTW, Sherman Theatre, The Other Room, Chapter and Dirty Protest, Cardiff, as well as Riverside Studios, Old Vic Tunnels, Almeida Theatre, Drayton Arms and Bread & Roses, London. He was also a writer in residence at Theatr Clwyd in 2015.

His play, GULL, was recently performed online by Far Away Plays, and his lockdown-recorded online monologue, BREATHE, won an Offie in February.

His multiple-choice audio drama for Alexa, IN PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS, is currently in post and he’s also working on his new drama podcast, ROCKS.

He’s written three short films. BETWEEN (screened at Cineworld in 2019) was selected by Lift-Off Festival and TINY MAD ANIMALS and SCREWDRIVER are due for a 2021 release.

He’s working on a number of new feature and TV projects, including his gritty, female-led vigilante drama NEMESIS, the comedy drama OTHER PEOPLE and PEDALO, the first episode of his lockdown-themed trilogy.

Keen to find an outlet for new characters and ideas, his recently launched YouTube channel “Short Stories for Stressed Grown-Ups” is currently helping global audiences get a good night’s sleep.
