Nathan Wyburn
Nathan Wyburn, 34, is a Welsh artist and media personality, who specialises mostly in creating iconic celebrity portraits and ‘Pop culture’ imagery with non-traditional mediums such as Food (Marmite on Toast, Sauces, Sugar, Chocolate, Beans, Pizza, Sweets etc), along with other everyday items (Newspaper cut outs, soil, glitter, lipstick, toys etc). He has also made art using his lips, tongue, feet, fingerprints and digital collage! Taking inspiration from current affairs and media topics, he’s never short of ideas and produces work on a weekly basis.
Due to the uniqueness of Nathan’s artistic flare and the popularity of his work, he has appeared on several TV shows including Britain’s Got Talent 2011 reaching the semi-finals, This Morning, Sky Arts LANDMARK, Sky Portrait Artist Of The Year, The Jimmy Fallon Show, Austria’s Die Grosse Chance, The TODAY show Australia, Good Morning America, Loose Women, Lorraine & LIVE with Kelly & Ryan.
Nathan has also been featured greatly in global press including Vogue, New York Magazine, Ladbible, Buzzfeed and had his work grace the front covers of The Guardian, South Wales Echo and The Western Mail.
Big name brands such as Marmite, BIC, Oral B, Costa, Jacobs, Dominos, Birdseye, Heinz, NOW TV, Barclay’s Women’s Super League, Welsh Rugby Union, B&Q and Hovis have all independently collaborated with Nathan for PR work.
Famous names that have all been recipients of Nathan’s artistry include His Majesty The King Charles & Queen Camilla, Blondie’s Debbie Harry, Sting, Tom Holland, Dame Shirley Bassey, Mariah Carey, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Sir Tom Jones, Idris Elba, Shania Twain, Ncuti Gatwa, Kylie Minogue, The Jacksons, Keifer Sutherland and Their Royal Highness’ Prince William & Kate, to name a few. With the likes of Christina Aguilera, Marcus Rashford, Kit Connor, Pricilla Presley, Sarah Paulson & The Russo Brothers sending their approval via social media.
Nathan has exhibited work all over the UK, and at Sacripante Gallery in Rome, Italy. He’s had interviews as far as Japan, USA, and Australia. Along with travelling to Madrid, Istanbul, Helsinki, Geneva and Vienna for commissioned work and TV guest appearances. Fitting in with Nathan’s busy working life he also spends a lot of time taking part in charity events to help raise money. He’s an Ambassador for Dreams & Wishes, Kinetic School of Performing Arts & he’s the first ever patron for Cardiff & Vale Health Charity, to name a few. He also visits schools and gives talks about his work and career on a regular basis with hopes of encouraging others to get creative.
