Efan Arthur Williams

Biography

Efan is an actor/singer from Cardiff who is confident performing both in Welsh (North Wales and South Wales dialects) and English. His main passions are composing music, singing and acting. Efan played the leading role (Noa) in the BAFTA Cymru nominated film ‘Albi a Noa’n Achub yr Iwnifyrs’ and he also played the part of Mabon in the third series of S4C’s ’35 Diwrnod’. He has been on two Welsh National Opera UK tours and was cast in two leading child roles in ‘The Magic Flute’ and ‘Cunning Little Vixen’. He has performed in Cardiff’s Everyman Open Air Theatre production of ‘Fiddler on the Roof’. His voiceover work includes S4C Cyw’s Numeracy app and on a cartoon called ‘Olobobs’. He has acted in numerous Bombastic Productions – including in an online series called ‘Laughing Box’. When in Year 7, Efan was cast in the lead role in his school’s production of ‘Billy Elliot’. He has then gone onto play the roles of Gomez in ‘The Addams Family’, Enjolras in ‘Les Mis’ and recently as Jesus (‘Jesus Christ Superstar’). Efan was also a member of the ensemble cast of National Youth Theatre Wales’ production of ‘Dal Gafael’ (2024). He is a member of Only Boys Aloud, with whom he sings as a regular soloist, and was a member of the Only Boys Academi course this year. Efan has won numerous singing prizes at the Urdd National Eisteddfod and the National Eisteddfod over the years including recently with some of his contemporary compositions. Efan is the lead singer in a band called ‘Dadleoli’ and they have performed numerous gigs across Wales to large audiences e.g. Maes B, National Eisteddfod, Sesiwn Fawr Dolgellau. Their first CD was launched this summer (‘Fy myd bach i’) and they won two prizes in 2024’s Gwobrau’r Selar – including Best EP and Best New Band or Artist.
